    Flash 5 sound question

Hey I'm back again with another sound question.

This is the deal I'm working on a game that has alot of speach in it. (similar to the speach in Dynasty Warriors)

And when the characters talk, a talk box appears and shows there name, profile pic, and speach text.

I already have the box setup with the right variables and it successfully recieves and outputs the desired stuff. now the problem is getting it with the audio.

I was thinking of having a master MC for the talk box and audio that gives these commands when needed.

    play audio = the track
name = the name path is _root.game.hud.speak.speak.name
pic = the frame on the picture MC the path is _.root.game.hud.speak.speak.avatarMC
text = the txt of the speech.path is _root.game.hud.speak.speak.vocal

So basicly all I need to know is the code to call up the right sound object with the corresponding code.

BTW. My sound files are named.
    VT001 to VT324

Yah that means there are 323 different voice tracks with random sayings.
hope to hear from someone soon on how to do this or give me some tips

are the files Mp3s? that you are going to stream from outside of your movie?

You may want to consider making them very small mp3 files then dynamically loading them at run-time. The only issue is if this is a web-based game you may not always have true synch.

Using Flash 5 still? I cant really help you. You should really consider upgrading to Flash 8, not just for the sound streaming, but for the performance, the greater scripting and the video features.

yah thats easy to say but I aint got the insane ammount of money to buy flash 8. even at student prices. Plus I dought it will run on my small computer.

I bought flash 5 awhile ago and I think it still works up to the standards of the newer versions.

Even though I am behind in the world of flash I dont think all that stuff really matters.

As in my example of a game made on a 6-7 year old imac G3 with, 66 or sumptin Mhz and 2 gigs harddrivespace with flash 5.

anyways I dont want to be pimping out my work but yah. Anyways I still need some help with this question.

Should I assign each sound an I.D dynamicly or would I have to code 300+ different instances?
