I am having what I thought was a simple problem. I made a movie clip and gave it a instance name of "ball" (without the quotes) then I placed it at x: 50 and y:50 on the stage. In the first frame of the main stage, I placed this code:
Code:
trace('X: ' + ball._x + ' Y: ' + ball._y);
For some odd reason, instead of outputting:
X: 50 Y: 50
It outputts:
X: 57 Y: 57
The stage is 200 x 200, and the ball is 15 x 15.
I noted that it takes the mc's x plus it's width divided by two and outputs it as the _x property. I just recently started using this script, is it supposed to be like this?
I made this test movie to see if it was only my other movie that was having this error. Could someone help me out please? I need it for another project that I am working on.
The registration point is where the clip placement is based. If the registration point is in the center of the clip, you will get results you posted if you place the left edge of the clip at 50.
