    Component video player Flash 8

I've made a movie in Flash 8, and put in a component with controls, and published it to server.
I don't see the controls now, what ever I do:

I've tried to copy the code from the Flash-made html-page, and uploaded again and again, all files that I found.

It's my first go in Flash 8, have had a break since flash MX was outdated by MX 2004.
I just wanted to do something quick and easy with no coding in Flash 8 pro.
Can anybody please help me - what have i done wrong?

im not really sure what you mean .
do you have the mediaPlayback component on the stage . and then set the URL ( path ) to the FLV file on your server .. then that should do it . otherwise post your fla here or send a link when it can be downloaded and be looked at
    cheers
    I want to learn .

Maybe this is the solution? I don't know where to set the path on server - do you mean in the FLA-file, or somewhere in the server config?
    Thanks in advance!

I may have misunderstood your question but..

If the controls are the only thing thats not showing, and you are using the flv playback component in flash 8 you need to make sure that you upload the skin .swf that gets exported with your videoplayer .swf.

For example, if you chose the ArcticExternalAll skin for your controls then flash will export (in a seperate file from your player .swf) a file called ArcticExternalAll.swf. This file must be uploaded along side your player .swf in order for the controls to show.

    Thanks, Nfan.
I found a way, I used the SteelExternalPlayMute (or what it's called)

What I discovered was that I needed to put the swf-files to this skin in the same folder as the page that's loading the flash-movie.

    example:

I put the movies in the folder /movies.
I get the file with path /movies/file.swf or something, from the webpage.

What I'd love to do, is to move all swf-files, also those controllers, into the folder movie.
I can't find where to tell Flash that those files are in that folder.

I'm all new to this Flash version, so my questions might show my ignorance.
I can't find any information on this question in the documentation.
