Can I work on an 8 file in MX?

I did a project in Flash 8, but at my work they only have MX.

I saved my project out of Flash 8 as an MX version, but I can't open it in MX.

    "unexpected file format"

    What can I do?

I guess 8 saves to MX 2004, and my work has MX version 6.0, copyright 1993-2002 according to the help.

Is there a converter or something I can get to save my file to way back then format? There's nothing fancy in it, the old MX should handle it fine if I can open it in there...

You could save it out to MX2004 format, then open it in MX2004 and save it out again to MX fomat...

yeah, I dug up a version of MX 04 and then saved to MX. Thanks for the offers and advice.

Seems to me like 8, and all software should be able to save back at least 2 versions. oh well, thanks.

It can, but 8 has alot of things that MX and MX2004 can't read.
