    FLV and blending modes

    http://theflashblog.com/?p=103
I thought blending modes could only be applied to movie clips? So how on earth did he do that particular app?

Put an instance of FLVPlayback inside a movieclip on stage and apply blendmodes to this movieclip.

Does this mean I don't have to use Color Key to remove things like black screens in After Effects anymore? (as in, if I use something like Screen or Darken, it will automatically give me the look I want)

How does this save CPU usage as described on the site btw?

EDIT: Excellent, it works. Many thanks. Much appreciated.

YW. You probably noticed already, it is not a replacement for bluescreen cq chromakeying.
In your flv you can still use alpha channel to show some background (can be underlying pic in swf or in your htmlpage) and at the same time apply blend modes to the flv.
