If you go to FlashKit Movie section (link up there) and search by the keyword "STARS", you'll get some nice examples:

    http://www.flashkit.com/search.php?c...e=1&term=stars

Little tweeking, changing some parameters and you'll get exactly what you were looking for.

    Thankful - your showcase pieces

Hey. Fantastic. It's wonderful to see so much time and precision put into building Flash sites. Such a strong visual element and with such detail. Having 2 small children and launching a company doesn't really allow me the time, but it's great to look at what's out there and gain inspiration from it. And your work is such a credit to you and your attitude is brilliant. You reap what you sew, and you deserve good things. My very warmest of wishes to you and your wife, and ...keep them coming! I look forward to the next instalment. Kind wishes

Thank you tracipet, thank you very much !

Well, I said this millions of times by now, but it's never too late to repeat it again...

When I see such a spirit and so many people showing an unbelievable respect towards me and my work... it gives me even more boost to keep going and try to make even better things. Of course, another thing makes me even more happy... if you think like that about some stranger like me, I can just imagine how much of a respect you people have for your family and closest friends... that is unbelievable and it's not just a case in my house. I am so happy to see there are so many other people like that... I am sure if we all just hold to this little bit more, this Wolrd would be much better place to live in.

Sad part is, we all are quite far from each other, and I'm sure we all would be a wonderful friends in our real life... I am sure...

Also, I am well aware that my Flash work is not even close to what other people are doing and how they do that... there are some unbelievable Flash geniuses out there, and I will never ever achieve anything like they are doing, but as always, they are my true inspiration, just like all of you forum people, and if it wasn't for them and you guys and girls, I wouldn't be here where I am now. I am well aware that there is a loooong way ahead, to learn everything and to finally be able to say: "...ok I am happy with my results now...", but still... this is much easier than it ever used to be...

Again, thank you people, you make our work (I really mean, for all of us) really worthy and I see even bigger reason to keep going !

    Kind Regards !

P.S. tracipet, thanks for your input in my GuestBook, I really appreciate everything you wrote in there.

Haha, not nessessarily. Sometimes its easier to be kinder to a complete stranger then it is your family *snicker*

Maybe one day Flashkit will have a reunion where all the Flashkit Users get together to meet face to face.

    Now wouldnt that be different.

Small addition can be seen if you click on LA VERSION button at the bottom right corner of the Flash animation... It will load another version of the Flash header. When it's completely finished, you'll get another button (same like the one I mentioned up there, but leading to first header version) called Cityscape Version...

The whole site will be made of few big pieces (intros for each of 3 main sections)... I'm working on 3 projects in the same time right now, so it makes everything progressing pretty slow... but anyway, here is a preview of one of those parts... still under heavy development, but at least here is a quick preview how it will look like... it's still in "base" stage...

    Cheers !

Sorry... which pictures ? I'm asking because the only links I see are those inside those menus in the first example I posted in my first post in this thread... but there are no pics inside those menus.

If you meant on those 5 pictures inside the HTML part of the site (below the Flash)... yes I edit them and retouch if needed, but those pictures we had to purchase from Corbis site (just like everything else that has copyrights)... http://pro.corbis.com

Just to say, that prices goes up to $2000 CAD per picture... of course if you go with higher DPI, price raises... usually we buy something at 300 DPI, in case we want to print out something, but for the web sites (just like these ones), we buy them at 72 DPI or close, because you really don't need more than that for web sites. Prices of 300 DPI photos are around $300-600.

Another outstanding website by Thankful. Incredible! Your first site blew me away, and this one's design is amazing. Perfect, clean...

I admire your graphic, animation, and layout skills the most, because you use them so effectively, and you are able to make effects that are unbelieveable by combing these skills. This site is sure to be another site of the month, all it needs is a little more creativity, like your previous site, but as you explained earlier in the thread, you are not making this site for yourself.

Another job well done, Thankful, and you continue to stay as modest as ever.

    ~Sportzguy933

    P.S.
Tonxgn, I don't exactly understand your question (although it wasn't to me... ).

[EDIT]: Sasha, when are you going to buy a domain? You could seriously start making a web design business! .

No I mean if I attach a music to the movie, and then preload it seperatly rather than loading the whole movie altogher.. say its a big album, you don't expect to load that much on the same preloader innit, I will be bored to death..

Hello sportzguy933 my friend, thanks for your kindness and all those wonderful words... I really appreciate everything you said up there.

Buying a domain - good question, hehe. It is simple unbelievable how lazy I really am when it comes to even thinking about that, haha. It's not about the money or price itself, but something I can just not simple explain. There is so many options out there,a nd I really feel little bit lost... what to look for when chosing a web space, what to chose, what to decide, what I really need (all those bells and whistles or just simple thing that supports PHP, Flash and some other things) etc.

The good thing is, it looks like I'm going to get myself some web space finally through the company I started to work for... but we'll see, nothing is final yet.

@tongxn - those preloaders are simplest thing ever. Do not feel affraid at all. Nothing extraterrestrial, just simple plain preloaders put at the first two frames of each movie. Even when I'm loading my MainMovie.swf from within my IntroMovie.swf, preloader in first 2 frames of the MainMovie.swf kicks in immediatelly after the movie is recalled from any other movie. You simply have to make a preloader and put it at the start of your movie. If you use that movie as independant Flash animation, preloader will show up... if you use that movie from within some other movie, exactly the same thing will happen.

I hope this is clear enough, I have no clue how to explain that to sound little bit better and easier to understand.

Well, maybe... Let's put it this way...

This is what I have inside the first frame of each of those movies:

And this is the second frame:

Haha, well I wouldn't buy them ever... if you remember the first version I posted in here, all those pics were mine (actually I posted the original version again, so now you can se my pictures). I created them from the scratch, but my boss wanted something looking "more corporate", so they told me just to chose few pics from the Corbis site, then I gave them picture names and serial numbers, and they purchased them from there... since company went down, closed many offices they had, laid off many people as well, and I was one of those unlucky ones, this project will never be finished. So I posted my old version here...

Trust me, it would be like million times easier to create them from the scratch (even if I have to use my digital camera), then to let all that money wanish out of my own pocket, haha...

Exactly... it can be done few different ways...

However, at the end frame of my IntroMovie.swf, I went with this:

    Code:
    _root.loadMovie("MainMovie.swf");
I wanted MainMovie.swf to completely replace my IntroMovie.swf

Incredible site Thankful. It's good to know that there are some good developers in the GTA. I'm from Hamilton actually, so we're practically neighbors.

I'm really liking the look of the site and it upsets me that the corporate bigwigs won't let you do your creative thing.

I did have a questions though, did you create that water yourself, or was it a component that you purchased? If you made it, how did you go about it?

    Again, great work man!
