    Stream.bytesTotal

    The flash help file says you are supposed to be able to access bytesTotal by doing stream_name.bytesTotal. I could not get this to work? Does this only work when downloading a .FLV file or is it supposed to work for Flash Comm Streams too?

    My first guess is that your .flv doesn't have proper metadata. Some flv converion programs don't properly inject metadata (such as sorenson squeeze), and you won't have the data you need.

    Try this... download FLVMDI (google it, it'll come right up), and use it to process your .flv. FLVMDI will inject the proper metadata, and you should be good to go.

    i'm using a flash comm server and am streaming the video
