    I want it now.

I think the 35D was an alternative speculative name for the 30D that would have avoided possible confusions with the EOS D30. But it looks like they figured we were clever enough to tell them apart

Isn't there another photography show next week? Maybe they'll release the 35D then.

The 30d will be cheaper on the street than the 20d is now. Canon seem to be pushing the camera 'down' so it competes with the d70 rather than the d200, hence the lack of many new features. The imaging technology in the camera is unchanged from the 20d.

I'm thinking they may release a new camera around the $2000 to compete with the d200, but who knows.

So I have to wait 2-3 more weeks anyways for my loan...but wait it out to see what else comes out? And how is it coming out CHEAPER then the 20D? doesn't it have and do everything the 20D does and just a few minor upgrades? not sure if i like the small body changes...I like the 20D style over the 5D

I'm still using the EOS D60...the 10D didn't seem like it was worth the money to upgrade, nor did the 20D, and I still don't feel like the 30D is that much better. I'm just going to keep saving up for a 5D - that seems like a worthy upgrade to me.

So you keep saying, but surely you'd rather a higher resolution full-frame censor?

Nah. For wildlife shots the 1.6x is invaluable.

I want to get the 30D because for me from the 300D it is a good upgrade. For 20D owners it is not really worth it. Really its just a 20Dn.

Yeah, this is why Canon still make the 1.3x crop 1D, many pro and amateur sports and wildlife photographers prefer it, it makes their lenses that much longer and sharper (because you're avoiding the edge of the lens, always the weak point).

It is just like a bank loan, except I get to wait 2 years to worry about it
