Smoke Effect

Hey all,

I've posted this in the art/animation and illustration section but didn't get a response. I'm hoping someone can help me with this question.

On the site KingKong.com once you've entered the site a smoke effect envelopes Kong and the woman. How is this accomplished? Is it procedural or an alpha of smoke frame-by-frame. I've done something like this in Flash and it's worked, but this is really nice on this site.

OK, i think from looking at it that its not procedural, the pattern repeats. I think its just some smoke made in photoshop, with many different layers moving at different angles and fading in and out. I could be wrong, but it doesnt look like a 3d program or after effects. When the images overlap they create different patterns and density's , giving the illusion of real smoke. Nice.
