I would like to create a movie clip that has animation that is also tweened.
I tried creating a tweened movie clip, saving it in the library and later tried creating a tweening on layer 1. Unfortunately I could not get it to work correctly.
I want to have a
1. large red circle
2. that has a small blue circle at the top.
3. the blue circle tweens on the outside of the red circle, between the 10 O’clock and 2 O’clock mark and loops back and forth.i.e 10-11-12-1-2-1-12-11-10.
4. This animation “test_mvi” is than saved as a movie clip in the library.
5. I create a path that test_mvi follows
So what I have is a red ball with a blue ball rolling on the top all this follows a path.
Heres a fla file of what I think your talking about. Instead of using a tween I use a motion path to have the blue ball go around the red ball. and I just reserved the animation so that it flows. And then I made it a movieclip in the library so that you can use it anytime. Just drag it onto the stage and the animation will work.
Thanks Walsher
I can't wait untill I get to level of the power user like you.
Right now I am barely walking.
The sample you sent me is exactly what I am looking for.
I tried replicating it
It works, however, in my library I see a bunch of graphics of the small circle called "tween". How did you manage to do it with just one object in your library ?
What I did was
1. create a red circle in layer 1 and converted it to a movie object "circle_mvi
2. edited the "circle_mvi"
3. added a new layer and created a small blue ball
4. created a guide layer and drew a path
5. created key frames and moved the small circle to the end of the path.
6. created a motion tween between the keyframes.
OK ! so what am I doing that is giving me all these extra object in my library ?
Walsher
the small circle is not inside the large circle.
Here is my file, sorry the colours are different, but it is the same concept.
Also in the next step, I would like the small circle to be ahead of large circle this is based on the direction of the path.
i.e. If the path is going to the top of the screen than the small circle is above the large circle. If the path is going down than the small circle is below the large circle. I have orient to path checked on but it did not work.
I don’t understand… This file is almost the same as the one I sent you.
With the one difference being that the small circle now rests on the large circle.
The two things that I would like to know is
1. How did you avoid having those extra objects (tween3-6) in the library in your example ?
2. How do you set up the main motion tween so that the object is oriented to the direction of the path. i.e small circle is ahead of the large circle.
1. Those extra objects are on there because they are graphics. I guessing before you made the movie clip you had made them into graphics. Hitting F8 and selecting graphics.
2. With that all I did was copy the green circle and put it into a new layer above the motion guide. Then I added frames to where the green circle would be over the red one.
