    Motorama MX simulator

Wow, finally after getting a simple demo about motorcycle physics in this forum a year ago I finally able to make a complete product out of it.
You can check out my webgame of Motorama here at http://www.motoramagame.com/webgame.html (give a time to browse the site too if you want)

I really like to thanks tomsamson and the guy who started the thread years ago (couldn't find the thread now but you know who you are)
anyway.. let me know what you think of the game

    later....

Nice work. One simple advice, since player wants to restart once it has hit the floor, keep the "Space Key" available for restarting rather then clicking on yes/no. Then the player wont have to leave the keyboard for the mouse again and again. Once again, good job!

thanks guys, it's too bad flash still is too slow to do massive calculation otherwise i would've added so many features. I don't know about flash 8 though, couldn't afford it for now
anyone who wants to put this game on their site is okay with me

I quite like it btw, good work,i dig it
Regarding calculations beeing too processor intensive, yeah, not even with flash 8 you´ll get generally better code execution times. The side of it which could help regarding performance is that you could do more with bitmapdata instead of handling several mcs, that would liften the fps for many things.
For actual code execution performance raise you´ll have to wait for f9.

    i nearly missed that beauty.

nice thingy you got there. not played as much as i liked (got a ugly deadline ahead) but from what i've seen so far it's solid fun to play.

    cheers. nGFX

You have to try "shortcuts" and also pre-calculate anything and everything if you can. (For example if there are certain maths that you will be doing ALOT, well you can create an array of results that you look up instead of doing the actual maths)...

i don't think it's the calculation. It's how actionscripts run that cause the performance drop. Too many overheads, garbage collector, etc I guess there's nothing to hope for since it's a "script" and it's intended for easiness and not for speed.

It still plays good on my system, so, I wouldn't worry about it too much. :-)

Yan, did you change your web demo? I now get stuck in this valley early on. I remember being able to get much farther before... It kinda sucks now. No point in playing if I just crash or get stuck there every time!
    ???
