    coke kids

anyone else find this kind of thing shocking?
Officers were called to the school on 31 January after reports the Year 10 pupils had been snorting cocaine in toilets before lessons.
i know it's not a first, but still.....

Sounds like my secondry school..! That was 'down south, UK' incidentally!

What makes me laugh is that its a privately funded CofE and not a comp as would be expected!

another headline a few weeks ago was "Girl, 11, treated for heroin use"

i dont have anything against people doing drugs if that's what they're into, but these are kids. they shouldn't even be able to get hold of the stuff.

That's a good question. One might assume that it is being stolen from parents, but even so you would think it would be missed. How the heck does a ten year-old support a coke habit?!?

I will have to make sure my daughter has the skills and common sense to round house kick someone in the face if they come near her with drugs.

I have been working with her on her hand eye coordination, and judo/ninjitsu moves.

By the time she is in middle school she will think she is better than the other kids, and will be able to stomp anyone that tells her other wise.

Good man. You want to start them young. They are like little sponges for information and people don't give kids enough credit in general. They understand a lot more than most people think they do and are capable of much more than most people expect of them. Learning to move her body and becoming more aware of her chi will serve her in every area of her physical development. It won't hurt her mentally any, either.

So good on ya, random! You go with your little girl butt-kickin' self!

A little Aikido might not hurt, either. Being able to use an opponent's force against him is always a good thing. I've always been of the Bruce Lee school, myself. Look at it all, take what you want, kick ass with your own personal style. Aside from all the other great things about the martial arts, that's the thing that I find I'm most fascinated with...the transference of force and the art of redirecting it.
