How Do I loose weight?

Hello Flasher, How ya doing. This is my first post out here. :-) After seeing the sites like Barneys...I wonder how they manage to keep their graphics weight so low but yet so crispy...and it loads damn fast...what is the secret?
What kind of programme or what format what compression procees they use...they apply...any tips...any process...any method to keep my graphics loose weight....and free from calorie?

hahaha...this was the challenge i faed when turning in my footer, the graphic on there was 33K, i just made the JPG 0 quality and it still wasn't clear that the jpg had bad quality and the size was 17K, slightly above the limit.
