    Search

    Hey guys i'm working on a project and was just wondering how i can make a little search box that would search my database and then print out the results. I would help me out alot if someone could help me with this.

    Did you try using the SEARCH feature here in the forums?.... It's tough to know where to point you because you didn't mention what kind of database you are using (MySQL, MS Access, etc) how you'll be connecting (PHP, ASP, etc). Provide some more details, OR... just do search. I did a quick search for 'Search Database' and got like 8 pages of results.

    Yeah, though they don't tell me how to set up the mysql database.

    then you need MySQL help... not Flash help. Try the Scripting & Backend forum. You'll need to provide more information though... in particular, what kind of info will you be storing in the database?...what kind of files?...

    The best way to get people to help you is to provide as much detailed information as you can about your problem, what you would like to do, and how you would like to do it, as well as what kind of server you are using, which version of PHP, Flash, etc. Without knowing that, it's tough to point you in the right direction. From your post, I assumed you already had a database set up and just needed help connecting to to it.
