    From Krautland

    Hi Flashkit Community,

    My name: Joachim Schnier

I am a new moderator in the Flash 8 forum. Originally I am a Kraut but living in US for years now, to be precise in Northern CA in the Sacramento area.

I am married, no children but a cat.

    What I do for living?
    I am a cancer researcher.

How did I come to web design?
I wanted to publish short stories and monologues. The rest you can guess...

    Some of my skills:
    (X)HTML
    CSS
    XML
    PHP
    Flash Actionscript

I still do (X)HTML from scratch, since I am used to.

    Why do I do Flash?
Ask yourself this question . I should say, because I am hooked to it and keeps my tired mind active (except when it makes my mind more tired).

I like the Flash community and how helpful they are, something I have not much experienced as a scientist.

    Some principles I follow:
Don't skip a version of your important program, because you think you don't need it. A good example was skipping MX2004 (7).

I have read several Flash books, in particular bibles (Flash 5) and Flash MX actionscript bible. Then I have read books about XML and Colin Moocks Essential Actionscript 2.0.

    My favorite drinks:
    Coffee, wine, beer

Well, that's about it. Feel free to ask questions.
