Raging Bull or Run Lola Run?
Well... should I watch Raging Bull or Run Lola Run tonight?
Any good foreign films kicking around that I should see? I watched Amelie the other night, I forgot how ****ING good it is!
Anyone seen the Edukators? German kidnap film, pretty mainstream but awesome all the same.

eh, raging bull didn't live up to the hype. I've never seen run lola run.
If you're looking for an artsy foreign movie, try City of Lost Children. It's in French, and is a bit odd...but pretty good from an artistic point of view.
Another one i liked was 'Kitchen Stories' ...i think it's Dutch, but it has a pretty good and heartwarming story.

Of course it's good, it's from the same director of Amelie (who also did Alien 4, which sucked, but had great colors).
Well, latin ones (not new, but good):
amores perros (mexican)
y tu mama tambien (mexican)
Nicotina (mexican)
More recently: la mujer de mi hermano (my brother's wife), it's supposed to be really good, though it is new in the US, it's supposed to have been show in other countries already
I've been watching some asian horror films, they are good
The Shutter
The eye
A tail of two sisters
Action:
Ong bak? (or anything with Tony Jaa)
With the same actress of amelie:
a very long engagement
German:
Good bye lenin (the music is from the same guy that did the soundtrack for amelie: Yann Tiersen), it's kind of boring, but good nevertheless.
Well, absolutely not new, but have you seen the three colors movies? (Red, white, blue)(by Kieslowski)? Red is just awesome.
That's about it.

Oh, a very good one, from Argentina: Nueve Reinas (9 Queens). Hollywood did a remake of this movie (called: Criminal), which of course can't be as good as the original!
I liked Motorcycle Diaries, though I don't know if you'd consider taht foreign film.
City of God is a must see (from Brasil)
Another old one, from Peru: Pantaleon y las visitadoras (a fun, sexy story about whores and the military).

as are: Three colours red, Three colours blue (the best one), Three colours white (haven't seen this one, it could be arse... the other two are great though!)

Not PWD
I choose Cannon Ball Run.
PAlexC: That's just Chuck Norris's way of saying sometimes corn needs to lay the heck down.
Gerbick: America. Stabbing suckers since Vespucci left.

Kitchen Stories is Norwegian - a great movie though
Another one I watched recently (in a similarly snowbound setting) was Nói albÃ*nói, pretty good and it has a gorgeous soundtrack.

It's a shame Krystow Kieslowski is dead, he made some great movies. The soundtracks to the Trois Couleurs trilogy is definitely worth the purchase, Zbigniew Preisner makes some of the best contemporary romantic classical music. And on a Preisner-sidenote: his soundtrack to Aberdeen is brilliant too, as is his album Requiem for my Friend, written for Kieslowski after he passed away.
