the way i get around this type of thing is either have 2 cameras 1 for work and one for personal use or another company u may work for

ie if 2 magazines want the same pics just take 2 cameras one ofr each company or just take 2 pictures of the same subject and give one to one company and the other to other companys.

this may only really work if u are freelance but its how i do it.

great picture, did u use any filters? tried this same thing the other week and just turned out 2 bright

I hear ya. Actually, i'm saving up to get a nice cam (i only have a 2mp kodak which sucks). I'm more an amateur and not trying to go all out on one, but sooner or later i'll want a quality SLR. I'm in no rush.

No, i didn't use any filters, but i did do some level & color balance adjustments. The lighting the day i took this was amazing. I've got another that's literally across the road from this taken about 5 minutes later...i'll see if i can find it on my comp.

jwin- is that a long exposure or 2 pictures overlayed in photoshop?

whichever it is, it's a cool effect and fits in nicely with the theme

That was a long exposure, maybe like a second. Honestly I got kind of lucky with that one.

Had this one floating around in my head for a while - finally got around to it last night:



One photo of the ballpark (PNC Park in Pittsburgh) thrown out of focus with some Gaussian Blur.

2nd photo of the baseball...I roasted it with a blowtorch, scuffed it up with some sandpaper, and even painted bits of it with some brown paint. Just added a bit of motion blur around the edges.

Smoke and fire were drawn in with photoshop.

I kinda like the way it turned out...

Who actually owns a pair of these? I've never seen any before last night (I'm 19 so a bit before my time).

I was pleased with the way that one pair was much brighter than the other and had less blur so I emphasised it.

Can anyone tell me the best way to take a indoor baskteball shot with flourescent lighting. I have a Canon Digital Rebel and a Canon 20D. No matter what I try the photos are all blurry and most of them are yellowish in color because of the lighting. I have tried to change settings to flourescent, but that didnt' help at all.

here is my attempt at movement....I adjusted the shutter to stay open for a while and this one came out the sharpest....as I did not use a tripod. Its difficult to stay on the moving object when the eye piece is blacked out while the shutter is open. Any tips on this as I am very new to photography.
