help! - animated buttons

hey there!

i'm trying to make a banner that is activated when you move your mouse upon it.

when you go over the banner, the image will fade to 100% and when you move out, the image fades out around 50%

(the banner has 2 links inside too but that's do-able )

how do i create this? cause i tried fixing it with the button-symbol, but you don't have a rollout-function in that one so...

Hi there, you should make your buttons with movie clip symbols.

Put all of your animtion within a movie clip, give it an instance name then control it using actionscript on the main timeline.

Take a look at my example (MX2004 format), I'm sure you'll figure out how to adapt this method for your banner, but let me know if you get stuck

i've just only one remaining question:
is it possible to put links INSIDE the fading movieclip
cause right now the whole thing is a link right?

it isn't really a problem if this can't be done, just trying to find out how far flash can go in such a way.
