    Evolution FX and Models

I've just done (well, hopefully finished) a website for Richard Van Den Bergh, the creator of models for movies such as 'Alien vs Predator'

    http://www.richardvandenbergh.com

    This is now live.
I wanted to get some feedback on the interface etc.

Just one thing to bare in mind; the website is for the media industry, and I discussed with Richard the fact that using high quality media will alienate people on slow computers/connections. We decided, as he aims to appeal to movie production companies with their high end computers and connections, to use footage of his work as the main interface.

All media is copyrighted, so please look and don't take.

    Thanks in advance!

That's strange, all my browsers are fine. I've tried it on other systems too.

    Can you try again?

Also, as you can see it in IE, give alittle feedback?

    Glad to hear it Adobe.

I think the problem in FF is fixed, can you let me know if that's the case for you?

    Thanks

this is some of his work... the slow motion mirror ball that explodes was done for a project. If you watch the Special Visual Effects, you will see this is just one example of different visual effects/models he has done.

Thanks for taking the time to look at the site.

I'd really appreciate some feedback on the actual website, workings of, rather than what my client has asked for.

The text on the "back" button is sometimes fuzzy. Is it exactly on pixel?

This is the complete version, and the only background effect is the mirror ball.

Over 70 views... I'd love some more feedback to pass on to my client or fix if they are errors.

    Thanks

    funky animation.

    fine on firefox for me.

when i clicked on 'profile' the loading bar and text remained on the screen for a second or so after the text had already loaded.

cv doesn't work, but i guess you just havn't uploaded it to your test server?!

the 'special visual effects' is extremely pixelly- are you aware of that?

the photos section looks good, but could do with a 'next' button once you've clicked on a photo, so you don't have to keep going back to the menu.

not sure how helpful all that is, but that's the way i see it.....

Thanks - the next button is a good idea....

As for the other SVE, It's a massive file so I tried making it as small as possible - maybe I went too far.

Thanks for the heads up Carly

is it possible to get him to/ for you to split it into two parts? have a SVE1 and SVE2? or is that not doable really? just a thought.

I would consider having larger text. People don't like to read too much at a time and even more so if it is tiny to read.

I'd enlarge the text (and the text area if necessary) - probably use a font from fontsforflash.com. Then Make the exploding ball animation smaller so it is less pixelated and then speed it up. At the moment - on my quite fast system - it seems too slow for an animation - especially of an explosion - even though you probably don't want it to happen too quickly or whatever.

I'd make the text bigger - it will be more inviting. Tiny is cool sometimes - but I think he will benefit from practical also.

2 cents and keep up the good work!

The work is good, i hate the nav. Navigation should always be available...I should not have to back out of a page so I can navigate to another. Usability is always key for me though. Even if a site is targeted to a specific audience, they need to be able to feel comfortable navigating.

After a few weeks up, we've had some feedback.

I've made changes to the areas people have suggested - thanks again for the feedback.

If people could just look at the photos section, with an updated menu system, and the overall speed of the site, I would appreciate it!

    Thanks again.
