So would you aggree that you have as much proof that there isn't a God as we have that there is a God?
    Just figured i'd ask.

No. I have all the proof I need that there is no god. You don't have any proof there is.

The difference is, I don't need to prove it, cause I'm not claiming there is, while you must prove it if you want anyone at all to believe your claims.

The simple fact that in all of history, no god has actually stepped forward is the proof. While obviously, if there were, everyone in the world would know it without a doubt.

Your circular arguement is the oldest trick in the book. It's probably the only thing that's kept religions going for thousands of years, but it's still just a play on words. A cheap parlor trick that keeps you safe in your delusions. You all are just afraid of the dark. Admit it.

    Proof and burdens

Can you prove that God does not exist? If you have proof God does not exist... show all of it and convince. You might find the tables are turned on you --- through centuries of literature and eyewitness accounts. Millions of people worship God through history and today -- not because he has proven not to exist -- but because he has proven to exist.

People view the world very differently. This is why I suggested the Philosophy, etc... previously. The differences between Logic systems and Belief systems split hairs and overlap. This is an impossible conversation for a winner/looser type scenario to end -- where one of the lot struts off feeling as though he has conquered yet another opponent – I suppose you knew that when you entered voice.

Read -- Friedrich Nietzsche, and of course Carl Marx -- these guys will convince you God is dead, and God does not exist -respectively. And James Fletcher "Situation Ethics" will endorse the Devil himself. For a case in court -- most postings here are open ended, vague, flaming. Let’s see your resources fellows – what do you really know about the ‘God’ word – whether pro or con? If you want to argue God I would suggest getting to know the classics, getting to know the philosophies, etc...

That is me final word on it lads -- except -- much to be learned --- much much to be learned...

    The Iliad

Presently he came down from his post on the mountain top, and as
he strode swiftly onwards the high hills and the forest quaked beneath
the tread of his immortal feet. Three strides he took, and with the
fourth he reached his goal- Aegae, where is his glittering golden
palace, imperishable, in the depths of the sea. When he got there,
he yoked his fleet brazen-footed steeds with their manes of gold all
flying in the wind; he clothed himself in raiment of gold, grasped his
gold whip, and took his stand upon his chariot. As he went his way
over the waves the sea-monsters left their lairs, for they knew
their lord, and came gambolling round him from every quarter of the
deep, while the sea in her gladness opened a path before his
chariot. So lightly did the horses fly that the bronze axle of the car
was not even wet beneath it; and thus his bounding steeds took him
to the ships of the Achaeans.

Haha please don't start to try converting people either way. because like ATG said, we don't have any proof! we science people always need proof to believe in something! I can't agree less than that.

BUT the point is not about claiming there is God or not. I don't care. my point is if something is EXIST we don't need to proof anything! hence IF God (or alien) exist, really there is no requirement for us to proof anything!

The mistake from those 'street evangelist' is always trying to convey their believe to other people, and that's where the claim are seen to be need of some proof.

But for me, I don't buy Christianity because I hear those 'street evangelist' or even those pastors, I can care less about them. At times we as a person feels 'down' and at times I hope so much that there is something bigger than this world and human and me! how I love if someone could just fix the problems in this world. I might be fooling myself. what do I know.

and btw, Frets, you are 'claiming' that there is no God, so you'll need a proof too when you 'claim' you give 'proof' as ATG stated.

so again people, bottomline, I don't care about the religion etc that's in this thread, but the point stays, for something to exist it doesn't need us to proof anything. be it God, alien, those new species, etc. proof only comes after claim. and I am not claiming anything in this thread

    thank you RUSHVision for agreeing!

I've often wondered what would be "proof enough" though to some people.

change water to beer? walk on water? not be in cahoots with Jerry Falwell?

I can agree with that. It kills two birds with one stone.

If you know it exists, that good enough for you. And if you never claim that, then you'll never be called to prove it.

And that would satisfy everyone in this thread. Nobody would ever be in your face about it, and none of us would have anything to talk about.

Well, OK, there's always the PC Mac debate.

I'd prefer the "Taste Great, Less Filling" debate instead.

Even though Augustiner and Julius Echter are what I truly like...

A burning bush talking metaphysics, but that didn't burn up would do it for me.

But everyone else would have to see it too. Otherwise I'd think I was nuts.

"I believe there is no god."
    Is a belief.

Beliefs are personal there by subjective. One can neither prove nor disprove a belief.
Either you believe or you don't.

What's a gerbick, you ask? It's what you get when you take a gerber baby and raise him on lambic beer.
