    I would like to know what programming language the SWF editors are made in??

    I want to build a program that will export swf files. what programming language do i need to learn??

    some such software is written in c or c++, other is probably written in java

    Frankly any programming language will do... Being able to export SWF has nothing to do with the programming language. I believe the SDK from Macromedia is for C+ is it not?

    Most likely C++. But really, most commercial desktop PC software will have a combination of C++ and something else, usually some assembly code. Who knows? Maybe even some VB!

    I know for open swf you can do web stuff in PHP with the GD library.

    These are my guesses anyway.
