Thread: Help! What happened to mouseX()?

  1. #1 Help! What happened to mouseX()?

I installed, now mouseX() isn't recognized. I tried root., layer., movie., _mouseX, nothing works.

Ok, I can get some kind of mouse position by leaving off the ()'s, and just doing mouseX and mouseY, but the locations are different.

Once again, mouseX() was an obsolete function that was destined for the chop. Total Adobe AS3 compatibility comes with a small price.

mouseX returns a value that is relative to the element that uses it. Use root.mouseX for the position of the mouse relative to the main movie.

    Sorry about that, again.
