[RESOLVED] [F8]Why won't my Output window output anything?

    A quickie:

At some point my Output window stopped displaying error messages. It still pops up, I assume if there's a problem. But it's blank and the scrollbar is disabled. Is there an option I missed somewhere?

You may want to toss your flash preference file. It will be restored when you restart flash.

Cool. Know where that is, exactly? Saw a few "Configuration"/"Default" files throughout my Flash 8 folder, but not sure which one it is.

On the Mac: User Folder-Library-Preferences. I'm not familiar with prefs on the pc. Do a search and you should be able to find it (Flash 8 Preferences) or something like that depending on the version you're running.

    Also, you can check this:
click "file"; "publish settings"; then click the "flash" tab and make sure you do not have "omitt trace actions" selected. then just click OK

"Omit Trace Actions" was unchecked, and I couldn't locate any preferences file, or options, or user preferences, or a User folder, or anything of the sort. I even looked again now in case I missed it. I'm sure it's in there somewhere, but I can't find it!

If you're on a Mac under OSX it's in the Users-admin(or whatever you named your computer-will have home icon)-Library-Preferences. Otherwise just do a search for flash and/or flash preferences in either case(Mac and PC). You should be able to find it that way. Otherwise reinstall, but it's most likely just the preference file. When things go buggy in software apps tossing the prefs file usually does the trick.

Nah, I'm on a PC. I searched every combination I could think of but no luck. Reinstalling fixed the problem, so I guess it will remain a mystery. Thanks for the help, forgive my late reply.
