South African cricketers chicken out
Sri Lankan officials and media Thursday made fun of South Africa's shell-shocked cricketers for pulling out of the tri-series, saying they would not have been able to play even if they stayed back.
The Proteas abandoned the tri-series on Wednesday, saying "the current risk to the team is at an unacceptable level" following the blast near their hotel on Monday which killed seven people and injured eight.

The way we were playing I wouldn't be suprised if we planted the bomb ourselves.

- That needs an enquiry as the bomb blew off near the Indian team hotel.

- The SA team are in the rebuilding stages i guess.
Shaun Pollock should retire and give way for youngsters.
Bowling front - Steyn is a good prospect and ideal support for Makhaya. Where the hell is Nantie Haywards ?
AB De Villiers is a wonderful prospect with the bat.
I think they will need sometime to gel as a unit.

I think people are too quick to discard aging players - with modern training tecniques and physios players can go for far longer than 15 years back. Pollock is fulfilling the role McGrath had with the Aussies. Our problem is a lack of leadership; Hansie Cronje was the best captain we've ever had - Graeme Smith is simply not tactically close to Cronje.
