    # of scenes in sizable sites?

If I were to build a site in Flash with a sizable navigation. Should it be one Flash movie in one HTML doc. Or many Flash movies embedded into each of their own HTML docs linking to navigational buttons?

Either way will work. The more html pages, the better your chances of one of them doing good in the search engines.

I was concerned about file sizes. If more pages with flash movies would help them in anyway of loading quicker?

If one html page is OK with you, then the way to keep file size down is to build one main movie that will hold the navigation, background and any other content that will not change as you click around. You leave a space for all the real content, like you would with any HTML site. Say, to the right of the nav, and below any common header or logo.

Then all the other content that loads into that area is built into new fla files and their resulting swf's. These would have a correspondingly smaller stage size than the main movie, since they only have to be as large as your normal content area.

Then, you simply use loadMovie to load them into an empty movie clip target placed in the main movie. Each one of these externals would have their own little preloader, so you see something as they load.
