pdf import text problem... please help??

hi,

I am trying to import a pdf file that has a table filled in with text data. The font used for the text is Tahoma. First of all, in spite of Tahoma very much being there on my system, Flash pops up a "Missing Font Warning". I set Flash to substitute all fonts to Tahoma and clicked OK. While the table outline is being imported onto the stage correctly the text simply gets jumbled into illegible characters such as &

I've tried doing this on Flash MX 2004 & Flash 8 and across two different PCs but I get the same problem. I've been googling for a solution to this problem for two weeks but can't seem to find any solutions. Please someone help me figure out how to correct this error.

How about extracting text from pdf files with the help of some 3rd party toolkits?
