That, and making the entire precinct look like it specialized in rats.

see, i never let this stuff bother me. i mean, how many times have you seen a greek or roman movie where they all speak with british accents. like you said, it's a nitpick...didn't bug me though.

Ah, these boys is all swelled up. So this was earlier...getting set to trade. Then, woooaaah differences.

I didn't really notice it really until after the movie and my gf mentioned it and I looked back and remembered scenes where they speak normally and then in the end REALLY dump on the accent.

    ****Possible Spoiler, but i doubted...*****

when leonardo decaprio was on the roof with matt damon and he said that jack nicholson's lawyer 'only trusted him' and that he had a recording of all their conversations i was a little confused....jack nicholson never trusted decaprio's character through the whole movie. when a rat was mentioned...he was the first person suspected.

He suspected everyone, but first and foremost the new guy, common sense. But Costigan convinced him it wasn't him.

Rather than play up the trite trust/loyalty father/son angle, I rather liked how that was just implied.

That and everyone getting shot in the head. I heard Scorsese was toying with the title "BOOM! Headshot."

Yeah the guy in the end wasn't really the guy that did it...

I have never, ever seen so many headshots. I actually meant to bring that up, thanks for jogging my memory PalexC. With something other than a bullet.

As for the accents, they were pretty good, I didn't really notice them going in and out too often. Nicholson didn't really put one on, and Sheen was just doing a Kennedy impression, but overall they were pretty spot-on. I actually thought Dicaprio's was better than Damon's, haha.

I read an article where Leo said how much everyone on the set was riding him about his accent to make sure it was dead on.. and how he wold be a JOKE to the people in Boston if he screwed it up. He said day after day after day they all maintained "Stay in the accent at all times"
