Image Export gets cut off?
Anyone know how to solve this problem? Every time I export an image from Flash it gets cropped off. I have the settings set to Entire Document at 300 dpi and it still doesn't matter. What am I doing wrong?!?!?!

Maybe you should post this in the flash section..
Did you make sure the stage covers the whole image you want to export?

Exactly what is getting cut off? Is it part of an element like someone's head being left off, or is it a completely separate one? Is it something that is extending beyond the stage?

No it's not past the stage, that's what is odd. It's well within the stage limits. As for posting it elsewhere I really can't as you get yelled at here for double posting. Maybe the moderator will repost it where necessary?

I can move it, but no one will be able to help you without a little more information.
Again...what exactly is getting cut off? Is it one element, part of an element, is the stage getting chopped off halfway down, or what?

Well it doesn't seem to matter either way. It cuts off the right side and the bottom of what ever document I try to render out as an image if it's higher than 72dpi.
It's pretty much repeatable each time too.
I'm not sure what other info to give although it seems to be just me as a scan of the web reveals nothing at all about it. It's also repeatable across different machines.

Try going to Edit>Preferences>Clipboard and check your settings. Are any of the Color Depth, Resolution or Size Limit settings perhaps preventing you from exporting the full document?

Well that explains it. there is a limit on the size you can export apparently although for the life of me I can't imagine why. I upped the app to the limit and it still does it. Cuts the right side and bottom of the imagine off. Try it yourself. Try to render out a jpng at 300dpi and maybe 8000X8000 pixels. I would be surprised if it didn't cut off the image. Maybe that might seem like alot but i use lfash for print all the time but exporting is a different story. Maybe I need to export different.

The limit might have been increased in later versions, but MX won't let me input a size bigger than 2880 for a document size. Can you export a .SWF then import it into Freehand or Illustrator and export your .JPG from there?

I'm using v8 and yeah it seems as though there's no limit to the size you can enter but you can't export it! Odd! Ah well, thanks for the tips! I will definitely have to export as an swf or an eps file.

Hi,
here's a work around. Go to Export Movie and then do a sequence. I was having the same issue you are having but for some reason, it doesn't cut off as a sequence. Your question is from 2006. Hopefully someone finds this helpful!

File > Export > Export Movie > PNG Sequence.
Choosing sequence will keep it from getting cut off awkwardly.
