    control the speed of the flv playback

    I have a client wanting to load flv into an external viewer and slow down its playback rate without altering the original video. Is it possible?

    Well, you could stop the .flv and seek to a new point at a slow rate, but .flv's can only seek to keyframes, so if you wanted an ultra slow frame by frame playback, you'd have to encode the video with a keyframe every frame, which would be make for a fairly large file size.

    It also would vary based on how your video is placed in your movie, but say you were using Actionscript 2 and the FLVPlayback component, it would be something like:

    Code:
    function slowMo(){
    myVideo.playheadTime=myVideo.playheadTime+.1;
    }
    var playSlow=setInterval(slowMo, 1000);

    has anybody a solution for controlling the FLVs-playback-speed?

    rdoyle720's function sounds promising, but any experiences? especially concerning flv-optimization. is easy slow-motion-playback via actionscript possible at all?
