    Loading Variable "from" Perl

    I wrote an onload event which calls a perl script to load data into a sprite, it works in player, it works tested in browser, it works when exported to HTML and preview. However it doesnt work when published to the web???

    I have tried exporting it in all versions of Flash 5 thru 8 they all work except when published to the web????? I run my own webserver, so maybe thats why everything worked locally, but why not on the internet? I am at my wits end. I would post the swi, but I can't post the perl script (client propritary info)

    Could it be the perl script, everything is in the same directory? Help!

    is that a question? are your asking for the url? or are you asking me if the path is absolute? yes there is a full path to the pl file. I tested the pl file and it returns the data in the command line test c:\perl blahblah.pl and I see the results. At the end of the pl script it has "&blahblah_print" how would I create the variable in swish to pull that line of data?

    when you view the pl url directly

    it should read &Varname= "your expression"

    I haven't used perl in about 7 years now. I can't recall how they define vars
    If it's an &

    then it should be
    &Swish_Varname= &pl_varname.

    In php it's always
    Code:
    <?php echo "&SwishVar=", $PhpVar; ?>
