I'll settle this.
Someone posted a link to a website, a (possibly left-leaning) blog of some sort. I looked at the next post which consisted of a bunch of animated cats head-banging in a music store.
The thread went downhill from there. I can't find the thread anywhere since the cats had nothing to do with it.
