uploading video to play in Flash at run time

    Hi,

I'm unclear how this is possible. Uploading and view a video file in a .swf (embeded in a html page) at run time (so dynamically). Because as far as I know .swf's only play .flv files can be loaded at runtime, so how would you get an .avi or .wma file to play at runtime? would it have to be uploaded and then somehow converted on the fly to a .flv file? and if thats the case does anyone know of any good converter code? a php script or something?

I'm also thinking of how Youtube does it, I presume they don't have someone sitting there converting manually all the video's that get uploaded!

    regards
