verlet and stiff springs
I am making some particle and spring/sticks simulation using verlet integration and constraints to keep the sticks the correct length.
The stick become a bit springy though. They stretch and compress. Is there a good technique to make them completely stiff, keeping their restlength at all times (or just almost), without iterating the constraints many times?

well, no.. there really is no easy way other than iterating.
I am sure though that there are techniques involving some more complex math which could be used though I've never tried any. Also, the performance hit may not even be worth it with languages like AS
