Photo Banner. Please help a noob

I am a photographer and I want to update my website (www.kmphotography.net.tc ). I was thinking of having the banner be a slideshow of my best work (Have images cropped to fit in the banner obviously). When the page loads have a picture show then fade out and new one appears, etc. How would you make this? I have access to Photoshop CS/imageready and Flash. I am a beginner in flash though.

If that is too complicated, etc. How would I make a banner that everytime I would refresh the page a different banner would appear. (Ex. gettyimages.com) Everytime you refresh a differeant image appears.

    Thanks for your time!

The easiest way to do this would be to use the timeline to show and fade the images in your banner by setting the alpha channel from 100% (full opacity) to 0% where the image is invisible and anything underneith it becomes visible. This can be set up using tweens between keyframes within the time line. There are very simple step by step ways on how to achieve this.

    Go to http://www.smartwebby.com/Flash/alph...ple_effect.asp

for a tutorial on how this is achieved.

personally, I would just get a free script somewhere that would do it instead of messing with flash...

    This is just one example...
