[F8] Masks and Dynamic Text help

    Flash 8

So I can’t mask Dynamic text. Is there anyway to do this? Would a component be the right idea? If so which component?

Basically I’m making a text box that opens and closes (mask). I’d like to load an xml or txt file into instead of republishing every time I need to update.

I would greatly appreciate any advice.
    Thanks,

    Hi,

You need to make sure you embed the font for all dynamic text that you want to mask. Its good practice to do this anyway to make sure fonts are displayed correctly in any dynamic text boxes.

To do this select the text box, and click on "Character" in the properties inspector. Check "specify ranges" and then select the ones you need from the list (usually the first 4 cover everything, unless you want special language characters included as well).
