    FLV playback issues...it stutters...Please help

    Hello from Canada...

    please help...I'm experimenting with flv...

my video won't play smoothly, it stutters...I know it does not have to do with my broadband connection, because it stutters locally too.

is it because it's playing inside an swf that is loaded with other swfs ?

this is my test page: the button is the small rolling movie...

    http://www.beaurealreservenaturelle....te_fr_test.swf

how can I make this work ?

any suggestions would be greatly appreciated !
    cheers
    Jeff

I looked at your link. What was the source file for the video? The encode looks very poor. Did it come from an mpeg?

The stuttering also may have to do with the encoding settings.

    original post below---
In the parameters tab (when FLVPlayback Component is selected on screen), make sure to change the bufferTime to 2 or 3 (seconds).

It's probably set (by defualt) to 0.1 which means that only 1/10 of 1 second of video is buffered and in some cases if it's not a smooth connection the video will stutter.

    Thanks for the reply joeypr...

I will look into the buffering thing...

-I don't think it has to do with the broadband connection, because the stuttering happens locally too (when the file is played from my hard drive)

-here's what Ive noticed since...If I put only the video component with the buttons...the video plays perfectly...but if I add the other elements (frog, pics, masks...) the playback video stutters...this is why I would like to know how can I simplify things so the video can play smoothly...

thanks in advance for anyone that can help

    cheers
