    Actionscript Books

Could anyone give me any advice on good books to learn actionscript. I have know actionscript or any programming experience really so I'm a real begginer.

Any Advice?? also would it be a better idea to skip actionscript 2 and learn Actionscript 3 or better to learn 2.0 and then move on to 3.0

    Many thanks

I would learn actionscript 2 first.
Are you wanting to create games or make web sites, You will need more than one book, I've got many.
Flash 8 Training from the Source is a good start. Beginning Game programming for dummy's is another. There are also great video tutorials out there that go through everything step by step as you would see it on the screen.

    such as www.learnFlash.com
    www.cartoonsmart.com

both have very good tutorials at great prices.
