    Reply Quickly!!!

    Hello FKrs...

So i'm waiting for a DVD to burn and it's taking an age...

It says it's verifying disc and it's taking as long as it took to burn it, can I stop it safely?

Don't, it'll finish. It usually takes me about 25 minutes to burn / verify a DVD at 4x. Be thankful you're not doing Lightscribe. Now that takes forever.

I don't understand why it needs to verify when the writing is complete?

If it finds it's ****ed... it's still gonna be ****ed whether it checked or not?

I say go ahead with verification... stopping it may end up in it not noticing that the session had not been closed properly. Nero and Alcohol 120% can go back and close properly if need be.

And yes... I hate it too. Immensely.

I know that Nero has a checkbox that allows you to disable disc verification. I think you have to hit the "advanced" button to see that option.

geez, are you still writing your DVD's at 4X?

Get with the program, 16X is the way to go

I only do it to ensure that the data is written properly since I only really use it for archiving.

Just try burning to a DVD yourself with a small laser and a magnify glass, see how long that takes.
