    how do you distort lines?

I use photoshop often, but i don't know how to do a very simple thing; bend and distort lines. i usually have to go into flash and draw it in there and copy it over (i lose a lot of quality and time in the transfer) how can i do this in photoshop? here is a very simple example of what im talking about http://www.rocketinnovations.ca/swirl.jpg

You should use the Pen Tool to create precise shapes and curves.....

If you're not that precise with the Pen Tool, use it to create a rough version of what you want, then use the Direct Selection Tool to pull on the handles to bend the Anchor Points into shape.

These things are mildly easier and more flexible to create with Illustrator, but it's the same monster
