Help with camera moving

I have made a simple platform game but I wish to animate the camera with the character, below is a sample however if you continue to jump you will notice that the ground doesnt return to its original position on the red line.

How can this be resolved using my current method of moving the ground?? Also, when you jump under the platform he warps onto the top of it - it wont compare the _y values to check if its above it because it is in a movie clip
