I saw it last friday with los amigos.

Megan Fox is hot, Chevy is not.

This has nothing to do with personal car preference, but why Chevy and Pontiac? Basically a Gay Man's Car (GMC). My childhood transformers were not labeled that way. The movie itself turned out to be a 2-hour GMC car advertisement. Now Chevy and Pontiac are selling cars that can transform into robot, well base from their TV ads. I guess this is the future of great movies. But other than that, I love the movie itself and will definitely see it over and over again.

Barricade was a Dodge Charger. Optimus Prime was a Mack Truck. Bone Crusher was... well, huge something that wasn't either Chevy, Ford, Chrysler... and Devastator wasn't a group of Constructicons either.

And does it really matter? Why not get upset about Microsoft and Mountain Dew too... they were placed in the movie too.

Blame Volkswagen for not letting Bumblebee be what we grew up with. And it's been years since the toys first came out... so I'm happy to see Jazz be a Solstice and not a Datsun 280z... even though it was still a cool toy.

Either way, this is a revisioned Transformers... and this comes from the most diehard Megatron fan you'll meet, other than that one crazy dude that changed his middle name to Megatron.

When megatron calls optimus out, "Priiime!" Just classic transformers right there. Kinda bugged me that the contructicons didn't form Devastator but in the cartoon they sorta just flew in to place which would have been hard to make cinematic I guess.
Soundwave was probably my favorite toy and bumbed he wasn't in it but again I guess a boom box transforming into a full size robot would not have translated well. But how cool would it have been to hear his voice?

Does anyone else still have the original movies soundtrack still memorized from childhood?

kinda surprised there's not a big budget He-Man or GI-Joe in the works. I kinda hope they don't start making toy based movies like so many comics and games. You know its over when you see a trailer for Legos the movie.

ack, just did some googling. The Rock as he-man and Jennifer Garner as She-Ra. Fox pulled out but Mattel has money thanks to Transformers.

I also read that the Transformers director is doing GI-Joe with Mark Walberg.

I like the idea. He's a good actor and is good as an action hero. I liked 'The Shooter', though the movie itself is lame, he's good there.

I want to see Transformers it isn't in theaters here yet.

Have any of you guys bought any of the toys?

    I bought a few, including
    - Protoform prime and screamer
    - Bumblebee '74 muscle car version
    - Legends wave 1 (set of 4)
    - Voyager wave 1 (set of 4)
    - Real Gear Wave 1 (set of 6)
    - Prime - big one
    - Fast action battlers Prime

Some of them are very well translated from the movie to toy. One thing that I don't get is why there are Movie TFs that weren't in the movie

He is actually not as cool as the guy who changed his first and last name to Optimus Prime. He actually called this guy out and called him not real fanboy for only changing his middle name and is calling him out for a real fight.

Big deal. You're upset about a movie that's based on toys.

Sorta like getting upset there's no pigs in Hamlet.

Oh well... it's not for everybody. That's understandable.

Well, I just said what I thought of the movie, like everyone else in this thread. I'm not upset about it though.

So I was having a debate last night as to wether or not Starscream is a lil b*tch.
I say he's not and I can imagine him losing it on Megatron some day.

"Failed you again!? Wtf do you expect? Look what you've given me to work with! Soundwave is a goddamn tape deck! Wtf is he gonna do besides play kids bop? And who the f*cks idea was astrotrain!? He transforms into a space shuttle and a train! Do you see any goddamn train tracks around here? How about a f*cking launch pad? No? I didn't think so. The insecticons keep saying something about molting. I don't wtf that is but I know it doesn't mean fighting. Why'd you even bother with Devastator? In pieces he's only good for cleaning up the mess and by the time they get around to merging the autobots have brought a transformer freakin CITY to the battlefield. Then I have your dumbass *****ing at me constantly. F*ck this! find someone else to pull your trigger!."

I probably won't be seeing it in the cinema. Looks a bit corny to me.
