I had this idea last night while at a friend's place, he showed me the art for the new Tomahawk (Mike Patton of Br. Bungle's side project) CD and it got me thinking it could be a great way of getting everyone to experiment with the balance between imagery and typography.

Luv the group cool cover the layout looks like something the way they would do it. the one mini or major depending how you look at it is the edges aren't clean you have a white outline around it. but a cool start Welcome to the arena sgt.
"What do you call a mouse's Shadow in the second moon?"
Oh, I love the text treatment Gerbs! Stunning!
I was bored earlier, did this as a quicky. (dont laugh, anything longer than 30 mins in psd and my pc crashes on me)
killabry, did you mean to save those as gif's? they look horribly washed out and the text is just beaten to death with a stick.
nats...awesome opeth one. i've been really digging their stuff lately.
although...a i think the image is a little peaceful in comparison to some of their music ...love the text though, great treatment.
I dunno, I just love how gif's have those cool little patterns when you make a 2 or 4 or 8 color gif with some dither. I see it as a cheap way to get some cool pixel ar. The text loses some quality, but I love the effect.
Thanks for the critique though, people either love it or hate it.
