Thanks for the kind words it has so much more that could have been done with it. Not too mention the edges not being clean enough the girl looking pasted in there whew and so on with the other little mistakes and miss use of the tools in this image. I look forward to seeing what you come back with though.

Hello, long time reader, first time participant. Are the rules that simple, 800x600 and no text elements? what about using the original image etc. I'm assuming there is another post describing the finer points of battling?
Beautiful Image, inspiring... them's be fighting pixels
Cheers

Grabbed some stock renders and did a bit of lighting. not what I was hoping for but couldn't figure out what to do with the glowing orbs and what not and this is kinda what came out of some textures.

Very cool.
Give us a walk through then.

He has risen!
hey OG....while you're image is very nice, especially for a first timer....you've broke the rules.
This is a private battle between Blue Samurai & TheDarkness.
Try searching for 'open battles' in the arena, those are exactly how they sound...anyone can participate by going off the last image posted.
Have fun, welcome to the arena, and please follow the rules.

Is that a bit of glass displacement via Painter I see in the background? I swear I've done that a few times where the angle displacement is ramped up higher than the refraction... oddly enough, I love that look.
Cool images, BlueSamurai.
Darkness... pay more attention to detail on the masks, composition, and be more selective on your composition. Attention is in the details... and in the stocks and what you do with them.
This image is wiiiiiide open for a great counter. Take the time and pull out an image that shows a creative way to continue.
So far, so good guys... I'll now (finally) rename this thread... latin(-ish) for "Skilled Battle"

Gerbick very close however not via painter. Was going for a bright water color texture feel, then thought i wonder what would happen and after awhile of layer upon layer, there it was.

Hey blue Im working feverishly on an image as I type I have just been bogged down with some image projects all at once and I have to make that money first before play. Ill have something today.

Hey Blue I apologiz for the extreme delay and ask if it is alright to continue this battle or start a new one your choice in about a week or two? I have been back logged on getting images out for some clients and have had no time for play right now.

Not PWD
Blue Samurai? I've been wondering where you were, oddly enough.
I knew there was a reason I felt an odd attraction to the Arena again
Looking forward to something cropping up.
PAlexC: That's just Chuck Norris's way of saying sometimes corn needs to lay the heck down.
Gerbick: America. Stabbing suckers since Vespucci left.
