    Doctor Visits are bunk

So I left work to go see the doc for a side ache...
I wanted to arrive early since I didn't have an appointment and I could possibly get in. Well I arrived 5 minutes prior to 8AM which put me in the Urgent Care category and is more $$.

The nurses helper comes in to do the standard, temp, blood pressure, ask you whats wrong etc... then leaves. (doesn''t even look me in the eye)

Doc comes in and I explain whats going on, "yea i had this food poisoning a while back and my side aches... "

I mentioned also that I get sharp pains in my side/back, kidney area and its been going on for a while.

So the doc says ok well you could have this (some bacteria infection that I cannot pronounce) "We can do some blood work and see what the results are."

Me - You the doc.. doc.

    Doc - Ok bye

I get my blood taken and thats about it. Since I had other questions that were un-answered and no one told me after the blood work if I was done or If I needed to see the doc again ~??? I felt like the doc didn't even care and was just concerened about getting to the next patient

So there goes my co-pay, 1 blood work test, and about 5 minutes face to face with the doctor leaving me with unanswered questions.
This is bull @$#@... I demand a refund

LOL our health care system is going down the drain

Where the hell is all my money going taken from my check for medical!! this is outrageous

It happens everywhere. Over here, if you get really sick and need some kind of treatment, it's like going shopping. You have to visit 10 doctors. Each offer a different type of surgery, because that's how they make money. Only 2 or 3 doctors will tell you you just need some pills and rest, so, after hearing several opinions, you choose who to believe.

Some don't care. Some care too much and want you to subscribe to their patient list for life. Only few can still be called doctors and not business men

You should tell them you have questions when they come to take you out of the little room again....

And umm...Yeah, health care usually sucks and is totally overpriced.

Costed me 100 bucks for a doctor to look into my ear, ask why I wasn't crying out and complaining loudly from the pain, (She said my ear drum was near bursting) and write me a prescription for ear infections meds.

Reason #1 to always find a primary care physician you like before any of this happens. Get your yearly check-ups (if you have insurance why wouldn't you?) and build a solid relationship. You'll still have to shop around for specialists, but at least you have someone that should be in your corner already.

I have a primary place I visit for problems but have actually seen 2 different doctors while there. Both very good for the conditions I went in for. I second the primary care location.

I have been going to this clinic ever since I was young and I just watch it go down hill. The place stinks, its dirty... I was not touching anything in the fear of getting some virus. NEVER TOUCH A MAGAZINE

I did once let them know I had additonal questions and I felt like I was taking the docs time up and he was trying to rush me... which he did.

I've never had a problem with my doctor.

Find a doctor you like and stick with him
