vertical gradient

is it possible to get the gradient to go from top to bottom, not just the side to side colours that are on the tool bar

Rotate the object 90 degrees, then do a linear fill. When you rotate it back to its original state, it'll have a vertical fill instead of the normal horizontal one. There might be a better way to do it, but I rarely use gradients so only know of this work-around.
