[F8]---Sting Following mouse effect?

I recently found an effect that I would LOVE to learn, so this is an open letter to any one with ideas on how to achieve this mouse follow action

Simply put there is a line that bends and follows the mouse pointer like the mouse icon is hanging from a piece of string. Loved the execution, and look of this and would be thrilled to add it to my bag of tricks.

If you have any ideas on part or all of the action script used to make this mouse follow action happen I’m all ears and totally open to your help and suggestion. As flash game designers I was hoping you folks could lend me some of your actionscript smarts.
