    Fortran used in as3 ?

i want to know if it is possible to use a low level language(ie: Fortran, COBOL) in as3. I want to see if i can get a little more speed using a low level language on complex formulas.

    thanks

Not really. However there is a language called Haxe which can be compiled to as3 bytecode. The developer of Haxe has also released an as3 assembler which is about as low level as you can get in Flash.

Blimey, do people still use Fortran and COBOL? :S

I thought they'd been retired years ago

I'd imagine that they're also higher level and slower than AS3, too.
