OPEN BATTLE : : Represent your favourite song.

    Hello Flashkitters,

I had an idea for a battle whereby you create an image to represent your favourite song!

No rules as such but I was thinking a panoramic ratio to tell the story of the song (that's if it has one), just an idea...

I'm too drunk to serve right now but rest assured I will make one asap, probably about Tom Wait's Martha

Run with the idea! I know you FKrs have good taste in music!

    Robb.

i think if you had a link to the MP3 or at least to the lyrics, i think that could add to the posts. (could probably link to a 30second sample on Amazon or similar site).

This is a general observation, not just for your image ShaunKGB.

As promised, here is my take on Tom Wait's Martha...

    Code:
    Operator, number, please:
    it's been so many years
Will she remember my old voice
    while I fight the tears?
Hello, hello there, is this Martha?
    this is old Tom Frost,
And I am calling long distance,
    don't worry 'bout the cost.
'Cause it's been forty years or more,
    now Martha please recall,
    Meet me out for coffee,
where we'll talk about it all.

And those were the days of roses,
    poetry and prose and Martha
all I had was you and all you had was me.
    There was no tomorrows,
    we'd packed away our sorrows
And we saved them for a rainy day.

And I feel so much older now,
    and you're much older too,
    How's your husband?
    and how's the kids?
you know that I got married too?
    Lucky that you found someone
    to make you feel secure,
'Cause we were all so young and foolish,
    now we are mature.

And those were the days of roses,
    poetry and prose and Martha
all I had was you and all you had was me.
    There was no tomorrows,
    we'd packed away our sorrows
And we saved them for a rainy day.

And I was always so impulsive,
I guess that I still am,
And all that really mattered then
was that I was a man.
I guess that our being together
    was never meant to be.
    And Martha, Martha,
I love you can't you see?

And those were the days of roses,
    poetry and prose and Martha
all I had was you and all you had was me.
    There was no tomorrows,
    we'd packed away our sorrows
And we saved them for a rainy day.

    And I remember quiet evenings
    trembling close to you...

okay, here it is. Frankly, I wasn't too impressed with it. My vision was much better, but it kind of fizzled. One more in the works.

    Code:
Quit looking at the clock, it'll only bring me down
And it won't bring you here.
If I pulled out all the stops, and a little less of my hair
Could I bring you here is my favorite white bic light
It can undarken the night keep it with you close
As I wave your eastbound plane away.

Too scared to pray, my eyes are too dilated to see
Without you here, I feel my fear.
Without you here, I feel my fear.

I don't wanna rock, I wanna roll on top
Of you and not let go with me to Second Street and Main
As we tear up the place. I miss your pretty face.

Too scared to pray, my eyes are too dilated to see
Without you here, I feel my fear.
Without you here, I feel my fear.
    -Without You here, Eve 6

    Friend Of Mine, Eve 6.
A song very dear to my heart, due to a friend. I hope I did it justice...
