[Complete] Tailtag - my first Flash game

Tailtag is my first completed Flash game. I started another game before Tailtag but decided to put that game on hold to instead start on a really simple game that could be completed in a couple of moths.

So, Tailtag is really an exercise in learning Flash techniques and in completing a Flash game. A formidable challenge I must confess. I found the Authoring Tool terribly messy and confusing at times (I used Flash MX2004).

But it's a playable little game in my opinion and I would appreciate feedback - especially on the difficulty level.

Please, give it a go at www.athleticdesign.se/tailtag

This is a great game. Kept my interest for a good 7 levels.

It would be interesting if you played with the concept some more. I thought it'd be interesting to include a powerup that would attract bugs to you for a limited time, for instance.

On a side note, that tree stump made me feel like I was falling into a vortex after staring at it for so long. Interdimensional portal or optical illusion? I still can't decide.

I liked it very much. Tho on the mission complete popup you should remove the "Selectable" property of the textfield.

pretty cool. i'm having problems catching all 10 of the red lady bugs on one of the levels, but other than that, it seemed balanced. also, on one of the levels, some of the bugs would disappear and prevent me from finishing the level, i think they were simply going outside of the visible stage

It's very nice especially the artwork but (and I feel like a broken record) where is the mute button?

Thanks all! I am pleasantly surprised that this little game went down well.

Thanks. I guess there's too little content for the portals liking though. But it certainly would be nice to have it in full screen.

I have a lot of ideas on how to evolve the concept. Considering that the core mechanics seem to work really well, I am tempted to give it a try. But on the other hand there are a lot of things I want to try with Flash. We'll see...

Like an evil eye to me... I wish I could vary the background though.

As of now, they shouldn't be able to disappear completely but sometimes they get stuck for a while at the border. I guess the collision detection needs some tweaking.

    Thats a brilliant game.

funny thing, the first game I tried to build in flash had ladybirds/ladybugs in it.

They're the coolest looking creatures and should feature in far more games.
