    This is coming along great!
I experienced the sticky keys problem again in, but in IE. I think it's because I hit the ALT key while moving around.
    I get 41 fps

41.28 fps was pretty constant for me.

Was not a fan of this game, but it's so silky! Nice job.

    yah, another update

    http://soap.com.au/games/avpr/

buildings collapse, better tanks, and the first of many building designs.

I just finished the collapsing today so it might be a little buggy, haven't really tested the buggery out of it yet, but it should work. The special effects will probably change a little too.

next up, eating people and helicopters

edit - there's a lot going on in this verison so fps might drop, this will be fixed later

Simply awesome - even if it is a remake, it's just really nice in so many ways.

Too bad it will be tarnished by the AVPR branding (seriously, what a let down )[/personal opinion]

hehe, yeah, should have been left at alien 4 and predator 2.

I wish I had the 3d models going to be used in this game to show you guys, they totally rock. Unfortunately there at work, maybe I can bring them in tomorrow.

how did it run Viza when you smashed a building down?

Actually performance was silky smooth on this old rig (1.47Ghz). I didn't notice any slowdown at all (even when smashing buildings down). Unfortunately I can't give you the exact frame rate I was getting, as I was having too much fun destroying things.

One small thing I noticed however, was that when the map was scrolling and I waved the mouse across the screen, the game 'jittered' a bit. Kinda weird.

I look forward to the final version.

    Viza.

    That's looking awesome malee.

I was getting 40-42 fps throughout with no slow down when I destroyed the buildings.

I never played the original game but wow, those tank explosions are probably the most detailed I have seen in flash yet. Or at least up there with the explosions in games like Rails of war.

small update, helicopters and hopefully better performance on the building drop. I was going to copyPixels to a bitmap, but I want different scales and couldn't be arsed creating multiple film strips for different sized explosions.

anyway, probably wont be another update for a while so I'll leave you guys alone with this

Better. Building crashed with frame rate above 30. (Depends on how many particles are flying around though).

Punching helis only works if I'm on a roof top.

Blood particles move in slow motion.

Using SHIFT and CTRL as action buttons is a major pain in the A$$.

One of the finest, more accurate updates I've seen since Cauldron.
I'm wondering if you're planning on keeping it true to the original (no shame in that) or adding a few new bits and bobs?

cool, I'll add a effects slider so you can control the amount of effects on screen at any time

Punching helis only works if I'm on a roof top.

you should be able to punch them anywhere

Blood particles move in slow motion.

maybe its me, but i imagined they would move slower because of their mass, different than a falling brick.

Using SHIFT and CTRL as action buttons is a major pain in the A$$.

    yep, thats gonna change

EvilKris, I dont think this is being totally true to the original, so yeah there will be some differences.

You need to acquaint yourself with one Galileo, who disproved that about 400 hundred years ago.
